California is the largest wine-producing region in the United States, it shares a long history with wine growing dating back to the 18th century.
Today, the new generation working in the vineyards aims for a greater expression of terroir with more diversity, particularly emphasizing farming over wine making.
Steve Mathiasson is part of this group, his family’s winery was founded in 2003 and located in the Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley, his wines are produced from a range of classic varietal to much less known, they all share a common sense of purity, balance and precision.
